Paneer Skewers | Pan Grilled Paneer
Paneer/ Indian cottage cheese – 2 cups, firm ones
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder a pinch
Ginger Garlic paste -1 tsp
Oil – 2 tso
Gram flour / Besan – 1/2 cup – 3/4 cup
Lemon juice – 3 tbsp
Chilli flakes – 2 – 3 tsp
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Wooden skewers – 10
How to make the Paneer Skewers
Cut the paneer into 2 inch square pieces. Sprinkle salt, turmeric, ginger and garlic paste. Keep aside for half an hour.
In a non stick pan, heat oil and roast the besan. Cook on very low heat until besan lightly browns.
Remove from fire, let cool.
Then add lemon, salt, chilly flakes, black pepper to the besan. Sprinkle some water for the paste to get more liquid. Marinate paneer in this marinade, skewer and keep aside for 15 minutes.
Heat pan and drizzle canola oil; cook paneer on all sides until it browns. Sprinkle chaat masala, chopped coriander and serve hot.
Since my kids were right near the pan, I didn’t get a chance to grill the paneer on the skewers, you can grill the paneer this way as well.
