24, 25, 26 January
- Should take up 2 weeks of BM without fail. It can be any two weeks.
- Will have to post on all 3 days with 2 weeks without fail
- You cannot take the same themes, except for the different Kid’s Delight theme.
- Should follow the accepted theme all 3 days, meaning if you choose one topic like Rice, you should post all rice based recipes all 3 days.
- Should link to the Blogging Marathon page.
- Is expected to actively give feedback on others post.
- Mandatory reading and commenting on fellow participating member.
Another thing can be that you as a kid liked the particular dish. Else it will not be eligible for both the events.
Sandhya Ramakrishnan is hosting this edition and she is calling for dishes that are made with whole grain and kids approved. It can be any course and any cuisine. Just the two conditions the dish has to be made with whole grain and approved any a kid.
Kid’s Delight – Oven baked Snacks – Sweet and Savory (17,18,19 and 24,25,26)
PJ will be hosting the next edition and is calling for all Oven baked Snacks – Sweet and Savory ideas, that will be ideal for Kids.
Any three Combo Dishes from the below list
Vella Paniyaram – Milagai chutney
Morkozhambu – Alu Roast
Bulgar Pilaf with meat balls
Idiyappam – Sodhi
Ghugni with Dhuska
Cinnamon stick Caramel/chocolate dip
Halwa puri chole
Soya keema with pav
Jalebi with Rabri
Sandwiches – Cutlets
Vankaya Pulusu Pachadi & Kandi Pachadi
Daal Baati Churma
Baked veggies Garlic Toast
Can pick up one of the below cuisine and do 3 dishes from any of the cuisine that falls under this main cuisine
If you pick up African cuisine, then all three days should be from this cuisine only.
The list is taken from Wiki and you can refer to the description and your dishes should typically fall under the countries listed there.
Can be Sweet or Savory and can use any whole grain. Pongal as typically understood, refers to the South Indian version of Rice dish made with Rice and Split Moong dal.
Rice is the Carb and Moong dal is the Protein. So replacement if any can be both to the Carb and Protein part. So any other carb or protein replacement is allowed.
3 different Cookies – can be sweet or savory
Main ingredient used for all three days should be different. Ex: It can Chocolate Cookies, Almond Cookies etc. It can’t be only chocolate all three days or only butter cookies.
Can be either sweet all days or savory all days. No restriction.
It can’t also be you make a base of butter cookies for day 1, add cocoa and make chocolate cookie for day 2.
Oil Free Breakfast
Can’t have Butter, Vanaspati or Margarine. Oil if used can’t be more than 2 tsp. Dishes should fit the breakfast concept.
Dishes should have shelf life, mess free. It can be any cuisine. Each day for one course, meaning it has to be snack, main course and a dessert.
Snack – can be anything that you consider a snack, both sweet or savory
Main course – It can be from Breads, Rice or Gravy
Dessert – Any cuisine. Indian sweets are considered as dessert, can be cakes, cookies or anything that you serve as a dessert.
It can’t be snacks all three days or only one course all three days. Each day has to be one course.
Special Theme – Do three weeks and for the 4th week you get to do the special theme.
